Hi Alice

We received your letter regarding the histories of the houses in Cairndow and would love to help. We are Margaret and Marc Keenan and we've owned 2 Hydro Cottages since mid November. At the moment we are decorating and modernising the interior and hope to use the house at weekends with a view to possible retirement here when the time comes!

The house has 2 bedrooms upstairs and one downstairs which we are using as a dining room and a living room, kitchen, pantry and shower room.

There is white meter electric heating, coal fires in the living room and one of the bedrooms, electric lighting and electric oven and hob.

We have photographs of the house when we first got the keys and more recently with the modernisation almost complete. Mainly it was a new kitchen and bathroom and general decor changes.
