Rosemary Cottage | 15 occupants (1901 - 1969)

JS Site Visit Notes: Cairndow, Friday September 28, 2007

Rosemary Cottage
This house is similar in format with three bays and 1and half stories high. The cottage has close eaves, slated roof and a modern cement roughcast front and porch. During the 1960's the front windows were altered, new dormers were inserted and the chimney stacks were rebuilt. (ask John). The rear of the cottage is unharled, and the rubble is pointed in cement. There is a slated lean to structure on this rear frontage.

The Ardkinglas Summer House - this house has a vertical timber boarded front, apparently all original fittings.

There were remains of another house, closer to the roadside. It contains one gable with a fireplace and slightly battered walls. It is narrower in plan that the other dwellings. It was built in clay or perhaps sand, mortar.
This requires further investigation by Tom.
