Laundry Cottage
Laundry Cottage is similar in form to Stable Cottage. Both of the houses were converted in the 1980s, however some work was carried out on the buildings before that date. The Laundry Cottage has five similar windows, door and small window, and small window at the ridge. The garage doors were made of something called Jara Wood, a teak-like timber, which is very durable. (The doors are probably out behind the joiner shop.) The Laundry Cottage has three bedrooms and the stable Cottage contains just two. The Lorimer drawings of these houses exist in a frame in the estate office with the proposed renovation sketched over (drawing of the Lorimer cottage originally built as kennels with accommodation for young keepers are also in the estate office). It appears that the Laundry Cottage was originally cart sheds, but was made into the laundry at the far end with a small flat for the laundry maid and her husband, and the two bedrooms now in the Stable cottage, were the two bedrooms that were part of that cottage.
